Boost Your Productivity With These 4 Apps + A Tip & A Challenge

Here’s why I’d strongly recommend that you use the Pomodoro technique  when working or studying. 

 

I’ve got four things for you today;

• 4 cool apps that can help boost your productivity

• A tip

• A challenge

• A quick request

 

 

In my journey to living intentionally and taking intentional steps to becoming a better version of myself, I made a commitment to take on a personal growth challenge every week with different focus each week, and my just concluded challenge for last week was focused on productivity.

During this challenge, I found some really cool and useful apps that I’d be sharing with you today, and I would also drop the 7-day productivity challenge at the end of the post, just in case you are interested in boosting your productivity level as well.

– The Apps – 

 

1 – Focus Lock

Focus lock is a third-party app that locks all other pre-selected apps for a specific period of time, this simply means that you won’t be able to access those apps for that period of time.

This app is ideal for those of us who always find ourselves lurking around on social media instead of doing something productive. All you have to do is select those apps that you are addicted to or don’t want to get distracted by and set the period of time you want to keep them locked for.

– Quick tip – 

You can use this app to follow the ‘Pomodoro technique’ I mentioned in the “Did you know?” section.

All you have to do is set the recurring time for the apps to be locked for 25 mins ( your work hour) and unlock for 5 mins (your break).

 

2 – All Social Activities

If you are one who is constantly on social media, switching from one social media network to another and trying to keep up with all of them can be sometimes exhausting. An app like this, where you can access all your social networks or a least most of them at once will save you some stress.

You can access Facebook, Instagram, Twitter & YouTube all on this one app.

Note – You can view Instagram feed and stories, like and comment but you can’t upload on your feed or story via the app. Also the Twitter on this app is an old version.

I’m still searching for one that can allow me post on Instagram, if I do find one I’ll give you a heads up.

3 – Wunderlist

I personally like to pen down my to – do lists and goals, but my journal is a bit big in size and doesn’t fit my mini – medium bags.
So now what I mostly do is, I pen down my quarterly, monthly and weekly goals, then plan my to – do list and daily tasks on this Wunderlist app in alignment with my already penned down goals.

With this app, not onIy can I have my to do list on the go, but I can also set a reminder for the tasks. It also comes handy when you need to mind dump certain tasks that you don’t want to forget. You can also get to share or assign tasks to other people but I’m yet to explore that option though.

 

4 – Buffer

I’ve had this app for a while but barely used it until recently when I realized that my real life activities are getting overwhelming and staying consistent on social media as a blogger or content creator at the same time can be quite exhausting.

Buffer is an app that helps you schedule and automate your social media posts, all you need do is to spare a few minutes early in the morning or early in the week to schedule your social media posts for the day.

If you are trying to stay consistent on social media then this app is for you, it is also ideal for social media managers. You can get to schedule your social media content ahead of time, plus getting a reminder is really great for a busy person.

Note – Although posts for twitter and others are automated as long as your data is on, for Instagram you’d get a reminder, and then complete the posting yourself.
